Dear Forum folks,
Thank you for welcoming me here. I am an Italian web designer working for a Danish client, that's why I'm not writing in English. If you are more comfortable in replying in Danish, you are welcome to do so and I will translate it with the help of Google :)
My client wants to have her website in English and Danish (with the language switcher on the menu bar). I am using Wordpress 5.2.1 and I have installed one of the Premium Woothemes called The One Pager. To do the translation I bought WPML plugin as I thought that was the best available. Unfortunately, when I installed it on my website it caused several problems, eventually turning the wordpress dashboard into blank and not making the website accessible any more.
Therefore, I had to restore the whole website. Now the homepage is up and running again, but I still need to translate it into Danish.... What would you suggest me to do? Did you have any similar experiences?
I tried to install the Google translator plugin, but my client doesn't like it. She wants the website to look "more professional".
I've also asked for support to the WPML people (since I payed for the plugin) and they told me they have just released a new version of the plugin and that I should try with the new version. Unfrotunately, the new version says it is only compatible with Wordpress 3.5.1, but I'm using Wordpress 3.5.2 - so I don't want to take the risk to see my website disappear again....
Looking forward to hearing about your experiences.
Thank you
Sara
